Laguna Mountain High, San Diego

It’s been purty darn nice around here the past several days.  Temps in the 80s and low humidity, with lotsa sunshine and blue skies, define idyllic, I’d say.  We need gallons and gallons of more rain, but admittedly, when you walk outside in this kind of February weather, you cannot help but simply revel in it.

Off to the mountains, I went, to get in some mile-high miles.  Chico, Red Tail, and Los Gatos still had patchy snow and ice, but rolled soft/dry most of the way.  Around the meadows, the riding was “mint.”  While pedaling the one-gear, John Denver popped into my head.  I changed the words to:

“Laguna Mountain High … San Diego”

a handful of trees had to be climbed over and through
a handful of trees had to be climbed over and through
finally, a little water in the meadows
finally, a little water in the meadows
rollin' high and dry
rollin’ high and dry
