An article I wrote about hoping to see wild horses (spoiler alert, I did) while SUPing a segment of the Lower Salt River in Arizona is available to read free at River Sports Magazine:

River Sports Magazine (RSM) was pretty much dead as a result of Covid, not unlike other niche/indie media outlets. It is now under new ownership and a relaunch is underway. A rebranding, including a new logo, along with a focused newsletter on all things paddling canoes, kayaks, SUPs, rafts will slowly roll out over the next couple of weeks. There’s also fishing, tubing, and destination guides to be covered. If you go the site now, you’ll see there’s a lot already on there from pre-Covid. You can also sign up for the RSM newsletter here:
Finally, I’m excited, no, I’m stoked, to announce that I am now the Field Editor-at-Large for RSM. Working closely with the owner/publisher/Editor-in-Chief, we plan to build a “new” magazine focusing on long form articles that are evergreen, not clickbait. We’re considering gear reviews, but not sleep-inducing ones that are wonky. If/when we do them, the idea is simple: keep it real, straight forward, and inject a little fun and humor into the review.

Hope you’ll join us on this new water/writing adventure. Scroll back up and enter your email at the RSM link to do so. It’s free! Wishing you the best. Get out there!
