Thunderous Melting Lone Pine Lake on Mt. Whitney

No permit is needed to walk up to the first lake–Lone Pine Lake–on Mt. Whitney. We set out around ten in the morning, taking our time as we walked back up the same steps that we took many years ago.

While at the lake, we sat and listened to melting ice. Up from the depths, below the hard surface, cracks of thunder sounded out and echoed in the warming air.

I was soulified.
