Pokagon Toboggan Slide

The first track was built in 1935 by Civilian Conservation Corps workers who wanted to have a little fun. Six years later they added a second track. Later on in 1971 it became a refrigerated track.

At a quarter mile long and dropping ninety feet, you slide for 20-30 seconds, reaching average speeds in the mid-30s miles per hour. The record speed is 42 mph! It is all smiles and laughter and shouts of exhilaration. If you are ever near Pokagon State Park in northeast Indiana in winter, stop in for some good clean pure fun! There’s also ice skating and xc skiing in the park.

Happy winter!
