Shinile, Ethiopia: Somali People and Camels of the Ogaden

I first wrote about the wells near Shinile back in 2005: http://vagoscribe.com/2008/02/29/shinile-40-wells-and-thousands-of-camels/ 40 Wells and Thousands of Camels.  It seems that a fair amount of people search the interwebs looking for pictures of Somali camels.  Here are some more for those searchers. 

It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the following photos.  Lots of thoughts enter my mind regarding Somalia, the Somali people, the wars, borders, Ethiopia, history in the Horn of Africa.  I think it’s time for me to read some more Nuruddin Farah.
