Oaxaca’s Carnavalito

As we finished up our meal, we heard a group of merry-makers coming down the street.  Oaxaca’s Carnavalito was on parade.  They stopped in the zocalo, playing songs and singing.  We walked over to check out the goings-on, enjoying the scene before us.  The distinct smell of mezcal soon drifted in the cool night air, men and women passing little wooden shot “glasses” to each other.  They then decided to parade up through town.  We followed.
