Rails to Trails

We had planned for canoeing and camping, with some biking thrown in for good measure.  Three to seven inches of rain on day one across Wisconsin hampered those plans. 

Record rain.

We made way to the home of the intersection of three former railroad crossings, turned biking/walking/snowshoeing/cross-country skiing trails.

Here’s where we went:

Through these doors is the light at the end of the tunnel…

50 something miles of Rails-to-Trails, including the first one in the country (Elroy-Sparta), can be spun out from the Elroy confluence.  It’ll cost you a few bucks for day’s pass.

Next time, we hope for sunshine and dry-ness
