In the meantime …
I’m guessing that we’re all feeling like we’re living in the meantime. Covid, right? What do we do in the meantime, that time between what’s been going on and the better days ahead, when life can get back to “normal?”
Something like that?
What about all of the other “meantimes” that people around us, and around the world, have been living through, without receiving much needed attention and services to assist them to move safely and healthily beyond those meantimes?
I’m not trying to minimize Covid. Not at all. In fact, it’s the opposite in my personal life. What I’m trying to say is: what we are feeling, and for some of us it may be for the first time, is what many of our brothers and sisters around the world have felt for a longer period of time. In some ways, it is the same “meantime” feeling.
It’s real.
We’re real.
Empathy.
Maybe/possibly/perhaps, if there is anything to take from this Covid time period, and to not forget, it is the understanding of what we are feeling.
Human beings.
Feel – ing
Be – ing
And that maybe the next time we hear someone’s story, we listen and consider it, in silence, and we ask ourselves: have I ever felt what they are feeling?
In the meantime, if you can, get outside and see some natural beauty. Smile. Offer positive energy/positive vibrations/prayer. However you do it and whatever you call it, it will reverberate, especially inside of you.
Peace be with you.
