Bicyclist #157: MTB Through History … Riding Through Time and Space on the Anza Trail

I found an online archive with the 1775 diary entries of Spanish Lieutenant Colonel Juan Bautista de Anza, documenting his adventure, and that of 100s of others, as they made their way from what is today northern Mexico into Arizona and California to establish what is now San Francisco. Using those diary entries, I weaved that time and place with today while on a bike packing trip in the desert of East County San Diego.

To read it, check out the latest issue of Bicyclist Magazine:

Cheers!
