Finding Rare Snow in Backpacker Magazine

Many years ago, two magazines opened my mind to outdoor adventures and set me on a path that I’ve been on for nearly 30 years. Those magazines were Outside and Backpacker. In the current issue of Backpacker, I have a small article on snowshoeing in places that maybe don’t get a whole heck of a lot of press for walking in the snow: Catoctin Mountain Park in MD, Brown County State Park in IN, and San Diego’s Laguna Mountains.
