US 395 Eastern Sierra Museum … Mary Austin

If you’re ever driving along US 395, stop in and check out the small museum in Independence that provides a wonderful history lesson on the area.  It’s free; donations are welcomed.  Inside, there’s an exhibit to Mary Austin, author of one of my favorite books:  The Land of Little Rain.  She wrote the book while living in town.
