As the last of the leaves fall from the trees to the earth below, and as the cold north winds blow in from the lands of whiteness, I find warmth in knowing that in two weeks I’ll begin what will be three stops in Appalachia over the following 5-6 weeks to ride my bike on forest paths. In between, I may get up to do some Great Lakes North Woods pedaling as well.
The tomorrow-thinking puts a smile on my face. A Wang Wei meditation after the photos:
Magnolia Enclosure
Autumn mountains drink the sun’s last rays. Floating birds follow their mates. At this hour colors leap into clarity. No place for evening mist to dwell. –Wang Wei
