“I am monkey.”

It was like looking in the mirror, except that their faces were much smaller than mine and didn’t look like the “me” when I look into the mirror.  Still, I could see homo sapien in the Capuchin monkeys that were around me.  They were at a distance in the forest, maybe thirty feet or more away.  As the humans stopped in their tracks, the little foragers moved about between the trees.  We got out our cameras, and they got curious.  Before long, they weren’t more than ten feet away.

The closeness freaked me out a little, as I was convinced they were going to jump on me and rip my face apart.  Still, I stood with my camera pointed at them and shot as many photos as I could, all the while thinking, “I am monkey.”
